On-Line Training for Volunteers
"4-H Volunteer Orientation"
is an on-line session for volunteers working with youth. Volunteers will gain basic information they need to be effective as 4-H volunteers within University of Illinois Extension.
All new 4-H volunteers are strongly encouraged to complete this training. At the end of the session, volunteers are asked to indicate their address and county affiliation. The local Extension office will be notified that specific volunteers from their county have completed the session. Arrangements can then be made to have a tour of the office, meet local staff, and receive copies of the appropriate role description and the 4-H glossary if this has not already been done.
Topics of the session include:
- Mission, Policies, and Implementation
- University of Illinois Extension
- Clubs, Meetings, Projects, Life Skills, and Experiential Learning
- Volunteer Leadership Roles
- 4-H: A Wholesome and Safe Program
- Assessing Needs and Training Programs
- Support from Extension
