What Is 4-H International Finland Exchange?

Illinois youth travel with a group of 4-Her’s from around the U.S. and one or more adult advisors who will also assist with their preparation.
The program is coordinated by Illinois 4-H in cooperation with the International Programs Committee and the Finnish 4-H Federation.
4-H youth will be assigned to home stays in various parts of Finland. Group activities and sightseeing at the time of arrival in Helsinki may be part of the experience in addition to home stays.
Transportation to and from Finland is on a regularly scheduled airline.
The program lasts four weeks beginning about June 15, 2007 with a two-day pre-trip Orientation in Chicago with other U.S. incoming and outgoing IFYE’s and concludes about July 15, 2007.

A look at Finnish culture from an insider’s viewpoint while experiencing daily life with host family members during a homestay.
