Special Opportunities

In a word, 4-H stands for opportunity. Illinois 4-H gives youth the opportunity to explore their interests, prepare for their future, and serve in their community. Take advantage of some of these special opportunities for youth and volunteers.

• Volunteerism
  At every level 4-H programs are successful to the extent they tap the creativity, nurturing, wisdom and skills of volunteers. Learn more about Club, County and State Volunteers.

• Workforce Preparation
  Help volunteers and teachers introduce youth K-6 grades to skills and behaviors which will be needed in the workforce of the future.

• Camping
  Camping has long been a part of 4-H. Make new friends and have a summer "get away" at one of the 4-H camps.

• International Programs
  Live in a foreign country or become a host for a young adult.

• Recognition for Excellence
  Recognition as a club for group activities can build group unity and pride. Recognition for Excellence is a program to recognize the accomplishments of all Illinois 4-H members.

• For Leaders
  A variety of resources available to help leaders plan programs and projects. This area includes the latest issue of the Illinois Leader.
