JUST WHAT IS CWF?
DELEGATE INFORMATION & POLICIES Eligibility - 4-H Members must be 14-18 years of age by May 1, 2008. There is a limit of two delegates per county. (If a county has more than two young people interested, we will accept applications; however, acceptance of additional youth will not be made until after November 2.) Counties or units who provide scholarships to two or fewer members may allow others to attend who wish to pay their own way. The above policy still applies. All positions are on a first-come, first-served basis. If all of the youth slots are filled before receiving a county’s applications, those delegates will not be accepted and will be placed on a waiting list. Delegates who have attended previously may not attend a second time. Cost: Minimum cost will be $1015. An increase is possible, depending upon the number of delegates who register. The final cost will be determined after the November 2 initial deadline and sent to counties and accepted delegates. This fee includes: CWF program registration; room and board at the National 4-H Center; most meals; and bus transportation to, from, and around Washington, D.C. For an entire week’s program - that price isn’t really all that expensive! We will be taking only one bus to CWF. Therefore, space is limited. Applications are due by November 2. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the spaces are filled. All registrations and payments should be sent to: Danielle Rice CWF Registrations 302 E. John, Suite 1901 Champaign, IL 61820 djrice@uiuc.edu Applications can be obtained by clicking here or contacting your local Extension office. PAYMENT SCHEDULE $325 Deposit - November 2, 2007 $325 Payment - January 15, 2008 $365* Final Payment - May 1, 2008 (*Final payment may increase if trip cost increases) PAYMENT PROCEDURES All checks for payment should be made out to University of Illinois Extension. Receipts will be sent to all offices and/or individuals who send checks. These receipts will have “donation” printed on them; be assured that it will be credited to CWF payments if the above step is followed. All final payments MUST be made by the May 1 deadline or the delegate’s trip will be canceled and an alternate will be contacted. CANCELLATIONS Cancellations prior to November 2 will result in a complete refund of the $325 deposit. Cancellations made between November 2 and March 2 will result in the loss of $200 of payment. Cancellations after May 1 will result in the forfeit of $600 of total payments made by date of cancellation UNLESS another individual (of the same sex) can be found as a replacement. Delegates canceling within 30 days of the trip forfeit 100% of payment UNLESS National 4-H Council will accept a replacement individual and such an individual (of the same sex) can be located as a replacement.
