A Family Tradition: August 8th-17th at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield.
Why you should help: The Illinois Hunger Coalition officials report more than 1.5 million Illinois citizens go hungry each year and children make up half of this number. According to Illinois Food Bank officials, supplies accumulated during the holiday season are typically depleted by mid-June; therefore, summer months are critical for local food banks, pantries, and shelters. The 4-H CAN Make A Difference food drive was instituted to solve this problem in Illinois. |
In the past 11 years, 4-H youth have collected more than 2.3 million pounds of food and donated more than 2.1 million hours of volunteer service throughout the state.

How to help:
- Bring a non-perishable food item to the House of Food Display and receive discount coupons for your favorite state fair foods!
- Drop off your item at the collection bins at each entry gate
- Collection bins will be located at various locations throughout Springfield
- Buy a raffle ticket for $2 to win fabulous prizes! (All proceeds go to the food drive)
