2007 Illinois State Fair

4-H exhibitors and their families and friends were welcomed to the State Fair opening day. 4-H projects were on display in the Jr. Home Ec, U of I Extension and Exposition buildings.

The livestock barns were busy today with the jr. heiffer, meat goat, barrow and pygmy goat shows.

The Grand Champion Meat Goat was named today -- Ryan Sanders, of Benton (Franklin County), will take home the Grand Champion Ribbon, while Dustin DeReu, of Geneseo (Henry County) was named reserve champion.

Mile Toenyes, of Highland (Madison County) took top honors with his Grand Champion Barrow. Kelly Miller, of Smithfield (Fulton County), had the Reserve Champion. Bryce Walters, of Tampico (Bureau County) showed the Land of Lincoln Grand Champion Barrow.
