 A Salute
to 4-H Champions
at the University of Illinois

Illinois 4-H alumni and partners were recognized at the Saluting 4-H Champions recognition program during the Salute to Agriculture Day festivities at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on Friday, October
28.
Four Illinois 4-H Alumni Award winners were recognized for sustained leadership, career success
and community involvement. Alumni award winners were: Illinois State Representative Monique Davis, Chicago; Brenda Krause Eheart, executive director for Generations of Hope, Rantoul; David C. Erickson, president of LANDcorp Inc., Altona; and Brigadier General Wilma L. Vaught, U.S. Air Force, Retired, Falls Church, Virginia.
The 2005 Friend of 4-H award was presented to Mike Adams, AgriTalk Radio Show Host, of St. Louis , Missouri, for his numerous contributions and support to Illinois 4-H and advocacy for University of Illinois Extension.
The Paul A. Funk Foundation of Bloomington was recognized with the 4-H Partnership Award, in recognition of their long-standing support of the 4-H Program.
Hugh Wetzel, retired State 4-H Office specialist, was recognized as being named a 2005 National 4-H Hall of Fame Laureate. Hugh was instrumental in the development of international programming on the state and national levels.
Representatives of more than 312,000 Illinois 4-H members and leaders
from across the state helped celebrate Salute to Agriculture Day at
the University of Illinois.
