2004 Illinois State Fair
Saturday, August 14

Sunny skies and warm temperatures made for a fun and crowded day at the Illinois State Fair. Counties from the west central region of the state participated in action-oriented projects, like bicycle rodeo, public presentations, foods demonstrations, theatre arts, Passport to the World and Walk in My Shoes group presentations.

At the Steer Show, Scott Keller, 17, Humboldt in Coles County, won Grand Champion honors. Reserve Champion winner was Colby Tabor, 14, from Warren County.

Tyler DeReu had a quadruple win in the sheep show -- winning Grand Champion, Reserve Champion, Grand Champion Land of Lincoln and Reserve Champion Land of Lincoln. Tyler, 19, is from Geneseo in Henry County.

Illinois' First Lady stopped by the Illinois 4-H Foundation's Family Picnic that evening.
