2004 Illinois State Fair
Monday, August 9
WOW! About 2100 4-H projects arrived at the Illinois State Fairgrounds!
(That's not a typo! More than two thousand projects arrived between 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.!!)
4-H members, parents, 4-H Club leaders, volunteers and U of I Extension staff delivered
the projects
to four stations strategically located at the Jr. Home Economics Building and the U of I
Extension Building.
Judging began in the foods, horticulture, crops and visual arts areas in the afternoon.
From the seven-foot tall plant stand with macrame pot holder to a photography
exhibit of New Salem to a motorized bar stool, Illinois 4-H member's
creativity and innovation are shining through. The buildings are almost full
-- plan now to come see the massive display of Illinois 4-H'ers hard work.
