How to Join 4-H

Contact the county Extension office closest to you.

Membership Policies

Any person, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, ancestry, marital status, familial status, sexual orientation, or disability may enroll as a 4-H member.

  • Youth who are five through seven years of age on or before September 1, 2005, may enroll in 4-H Cloverbud groups. (Note that not all counties offer the Cloverbud program. Check with your local extension office.)

  • Youth who are eight years of age and have not reached their nineteenth birthday on or before September 1, 2005, may enroll in 4-H clubs and groups.

  • Persons considered to be mentally challenged may participate fully in the 4-H program regardless of age.
